Herbs are a great addition to cocktails for both added flavor and aroma. Thyme is one of our favorite herbs to use especially since it’s so easy to grow and we always have it on hand. Muddling thyme in the bottom of a cocktail shaker before shaking it up with ice and either gin or vodka is a nice way to lace your drink with this comforting and warming herb. Also try pinching a few springs with your fingers to release the oils and then adding them to the glass as a garnish. Some recipes we’ve seen even call for quickly grilling the thyme springs, which adds a unique smokiness to this revitalizing infusion.
