The first and certainly not the last Pimm’s Cup we ever had was at The Napoleon House in New Orleans – a tall Collins glass with a lemony effervescence, punctuated by a cool crisp cucumber slice. A fantastic thirst quencher, the Pimm’s No. 1 Cup is as famous in New Orleans as it is at Wimbledon in the UK, where the drink first gained its notoriety. With a casual sophistication this drink brings summer back under control with a dignified nod and a sigh of relief. (Recipe below)
Our usual recipe:
Fill a Collins glass with ice
Add 1-1/2 ounces of Pimm’s No. 1
3 ounces of lemon juice
Top off with 7-UP and a slice of cucumber
